In today's episode, we're viewing some professional dual wireless lapel microphone system from the company Comica, and this is the model WM100. Let me just tell you guys that these microphones have a lot of features to bring out to the table. These support 48 different channels. You can have 48 channels with this microphone system. These microphones can be used within a walking distance of 328 ft. or 196 ft. if you have any obstacles in the way, so you can use these microphones in a very big area. Also, the great thing about this microphone system is that you can use it for DSLR cameras, smartphones, or other devices that you may have laying around that can capture your audio.

The Box

Play from here [2:07]

The box of the Comica CVM-WM100 Plus Professional UHF Dual Lapel Microphone System has a lot of information on it. We have a picture of the microphone system itself at the front. This set comes with two lapel or lavalier microphones. At the back of the box, we can find information about the specifications and details of the product.

Unboxing

Play from here [2:34]

Let's just proceed with the unboxing of the Comica CVM-WM100 Plus Professional UHF Dual Lapel Microphone System. This microphone system comes in a nice little carrying case that we can easily take on-the-go. Let's take a look at the main compartment of this case before we take a look at the second compartment and see what is also included in that side of the case. We are instantly greeted by a user manual, and this user manual will give you guys a lot more details on how to use this product, how to set it up, and all the different features it has to bring out to the table. I'm now looking at the microphone system itself. We have our two transmitters as well. It really has a nice design to it.

There is an antenna with the Comica CVM-WM100 Plus Professional UHF Dual Lapel Microphone System. We have our line-in, and we also have our mic port. If you wanted to, you can monitor the sound coming out of these lapel microphones. We also have our buttons in the middle and power on and off button. On the back, we have our battery compartment. We will need six AA batteries for this system. You need two for each of the receivables and transmitters. In total, you need about six AA batteries to use this. It's really easy to get it up and running. If you wanted to, you can use a battery pack with this microphone system. There's a micro USB port on the side of the device, so if you wanted to, you can utilize the microphone that way and use a battery pack.

We also have another transmitter, so we have two transmitters and a receiver. The only difference with the receiver is that it has a threaded base at the back. Instead of a mic-in port, you have an output port and a headphone jack. It's really nice. Everything's really similar. But once I power these on, I will be able to see how the screen looks like. Let's take a look at the accessories. Inside a small bag, we have included I think is a cold shoe base mount for the Comica CVM-WM100 Plus Professional UHF Dual Lapel Microphone System, and you just need to attach it onto your receivable on the bottom. If I wanted to, I can easily take this, attach it onto the camera that I'm recording with or attach it to another camera that I may have laying around.

It's really nice that they included that adapter with the Comica CVM-WM100 Plus Professional UHF Dual Lapel Microphone System. Let's take a look at the remaining accessories in the other compartment of this bag. We have all the other accessories that are included with the packaging in another compartment of the bag. We have our XLR cable to a standard 3.5 mm audio jack, a micro USB to USB-A cable, and a 3.5 mm audio jack to 3.5 mm audio jack cable. We also have a 3.5 mm audio jack cable and a lapel headpiece, so we have two of them for the two different transmitters that they included with this model. We have a dead cat windscreen, so if you wanted to use this for a windy day, you have two of them. In the last remaining bag, we have our brackets.

That's basically it for the unboxing of this product. What we're going to do now is move everything off to the side and take a closer look at the microphone system itself.

A closer examination

Play from here [6:32]

What we're going to do now is set up the Comica CVM-WM100 Plus Professional UHF Dual Lapel Microphone System and get it ready for the test that we're going to do outside. Let me take out these microphones and lay them all onto the table, so I have our receivable and our two transmitters out. The first thing that I'm going to do is attach the brackets to the transmitters so that we can use them to clip the devices on our pockets or our belt. All you need to do is just slide it in. I now have the clip on one of the transmitters. You just have to squeeze it in. There are small holes on each side of this, and you just have to push it into that hole, but you have to expand the bracket.

Now let me turn the Comica CVM-WM100 Plus Professional UHF Dual Lapel Microphone System on by holding down the power button. It's loading up now. The screen immediately tells you all the different settings, what group it's on, the channel it's on, the audio level, the battery level, etc. It tells you everything you need to know. There's only one more thing that you need to do, which is to attach the lavalier/lapel headset to the microphone system, so let me attach it onto one of the transmitters. Just make sure we put it into the mic port. What I do like about this is it has an anti-locking mechanism, which will prevent the lapel from getting pulled out accidentally. I can see it's catching my audio.

It looks like we're plugged into Channel B. It is starting to go up and down. Very nice. It's a really nice microphone system. Obviously, with the receivable, you need to use one of the audio cables, which is the 3.5 mm to 3.5 mm audio jack. It's the cable with the coil design. This will plug into your smartphone, your device, your DSLR camera, or whatever you're using to film your videos or capture your audio. What we're going to do now is go outside and test out the Comica CVM-WM100 Plus Professional UHF Dual Lapel Microphone System to see how they sound and to also see how good the range is.

Demonstration

Play from here [8:48]

In this part of the video, we're going to be demonstrating the Comica CVM-WM100 Plus Professional UHF Dual Lapel Microphone System. I'm currently in an open area to test out the range of this microphone. We're also going to be testing out the windscreen that you can put on top of the lavalier to determine if it effectively blocks the wind. I'm going to show you guys the setup that we have on the camera right now, and I want to plug in the lavalier microphone and start recording the audio, so let me click record on my phone now. This is the setup that we're working with on the phone.

We connected it to the DSLR camera that we're using. We have the receiver on top of the camera right now with the audio jack attached. Let me plug it into a port. Right now, it should be capturing my audio, and I can see that there's a drastic difference compared to the audio that we were producing before. There's a huge difference. Hopefully, it doesn't sound too distorted. Today is pretty nice. It's not that windy, so I can't really test out the effect the wind may have with this microphone. We're still going to do a full-on test and demonstration of the Comica CVM-WM100 Plus Professional UHF Dual Lapel Microphone System.

I know with the Comica CVM-WM100 Plus Professional UHF Dual Lapel Microphone System, you can go in to customize and change the settings to optimize it to fit your needs exactly the way you want it. Maybe that's something that I have to do, just tune it up a little bit. Why don't I put on the windscreen to test it? I'm going to attach it to the microphone. I have attached the windscreen to my lavalier microphone. Hopefully, there's a difference in the sound quality. Now that I have the windscreen on, it should be able to block the wind somehow. Hopefully, that's doing a good job of eliminating that wind effect that you usually get when you're recording in windy conditions.

Range Test

Play from here [12:02]

What we're going to do right now is do a range test with the Comica CVM-WM100 Plus Professional UHF Dual Lapel Microphone System. When I was doing the unboxing part of the video, I did see that this can actually go up to 100 meters, but that is if you're in an open area like we are right now. It says it can go up to 60 meters if there are obstacles in the way, such as trees, soccer nets, or whatever you have laying around, that may affect the range, or the signal of your microphone. Right now I'm just walking backwards. The camera guys is just going to stay put, and I'm just going to continue walking backwards, talking into the microphone just to see how far the microphone can go to.

I'm just going to back up, and we're just going to test out the range. Hopefully, my audio quality is loud and direct, not breaking out because they really shouldn't be breaking out yet. This is already maybe 10 meters. I would say 10 meters, 20 meters, something around there. I'm going to continue walking backwards. I just hope I don't trip or anything. There shouldn't be any breakouts. I'm facing the camera right now, so it shouldn't be breaking out at all. I'm just going to continue walking backwards. Ok, that's it. I'm going to go back towards the camera. What I could have done was count my steps. I didn't even think about that, but it is what it is.

I didn't want to go too far away because I felt like the camera wouldn't capture me if I went behind the hill in the background. That would be a massive obstacle that I'm pretty sure any microphone would have a hard time picking up on. With that little range test, I hope I was able to show how far this microphone can go without breaking out. I think that's going to conclude our test. I tested out just the regular lavalier microphone just walking around. I also tested out the windscreen that we attached to the microphone, which I continued using for the range test that I just concluded.

I think that kind of wraps up the demo of the Comica CVM-WM100 Plus Professional UHF Dual Lapel Microphone System. We're now going to move over to the final opinions, remarks, and conclude this video.

Conclusion

Play from here [15:59]

Here are my final opinions and remarks about the Comica CVM-WM100 Plus Professional UHF Dual Lapel Microphone System. It's a pretty decent microphone system. It's a good microphone system if you want to get started with capturing your audio professionally. Comica has a lot of different microphones they sell. In fact, the microphone that I've been using to record this video is another Comica microphone that they offer. If you're looking for some sort of microphone to use to just capture your YouTube videos, interviews, or just whatever you're trying to do, definitely take a look at this microphone. It has a lot of features. There are 48 different channels it supports, so there are a lot of different things you can do with this microphone system.
