In today's episode, we're reviewing a mini camera that's like a portable video recorder. This is like a spy camera, and it's very small. This is smaller than another spy camera I reviewed in the past. If you're looking for something that you can keep small and discreet, definitely take a look at this product. This supports 1080p video playback. It also has an SD card slot for saving your footage. We're just going to do a quick little test to see what this mini spy camera has to offer.

The overall packaging of this mini camera is fairly simple, but there are a few specifications and details on the box to give us more information. It just says Mini Camera, Portable Video Recorder on the front, and we have a picture of the mini camera itself. It's 1080p. It's mini DV, has motion detection, and night vision. There are a lot of different things that this mini camera has to offer. It has a few different things, relevant parameters on the box. That's basically it. Let's get cracking with the unboxing.

Unboxing

Let's take a look at the accessories. They included a card reader. We also have the SIM eject tool, which is a reset button for this mini camera, so if you need to reset the camera, this is what you're going to use. We also have an HDMI to USB cable. It's a different type of USB, though. I forgot the name of this. It's the same with the yellow cable. I forgot what this cable does. We also have a little clip that we can use to attach the camera to our body like a mini body camera. It's nice to see that they included that. We also have a plate, which we can use to mount the camera to a wall. You can use screws to mount the plate, so you can screw this into the side of your house. This can fully rotate around, so that's also nice to see as well. It also comes with 3M tape if you don't want to drill holes on the wall.

Let's take a look at the user manual. It's a pretty decent manual. I do recommend that you the user manual, especially if it's your first time setting up this product because it has a lot of useful information, specifications, how to get started with the camera, and how to get all your data and videos off of it. Definitely look at this if it's your first time using this camera. Let's take a look at the mini camera itself.

This mini camera is probably the smallest camera you can get on Amazon. We have a "power on" button and a "mode" button on the side. We have the lens of the camera, and we have our infrared LEDs all around the camera, so if it was nighttime, that would turn on and activate to allow you to capture footage in the night. On the left side, we have our charging port and SD slot. There are two modes to record on this mini camera. You can do "detection mode" and you can do "24/7 mode." In order to do the loop recording, you need to keep it plugged in at all times so that if the battery drains completely, it will still continue recording. Let's test the mini camera to see if it performs and functions correctly.

The Test

Watch the test from 5:59 to 6:38.

Let's power on the mini camera. In order to get it going, I need to press the power button. I think I need to hold it down. I can see a light blinking. Let's insert a micro SD card in, and hopefully, it's going to start filming. Let me power it back on. It's flashing. The light is solid. In order to start recording, I just need to click on the power button. Right now, the light is solid blue. If I click on the power button, it should start recording and it should start flashing. It should be recording me right now. I don't know what this is going to look like until I go back and review the footage. I'll include the clip, so you guys can see what it is capturing.

This mini camera is very interesting. I believe it is recording. I hope it is or else I'll look really stupid right now, This is what the quality looks like. I want to face it onto the table to show you guys all the different accessories. There's the user manual. The text is clear enough to read. That's very interesting. Let's stop the recording now. Yes, I think it did record. Now, the light is blue again. I think the mini camera recorded a video clip of me just right now. It looks like with this camera, you can set it so that it displays a time code to help identify what day and time it is exactly. You can set it up by connecting this to your computer. We're going to test out the "motion detection mode" real quick.

Motion Detection

Play from here [7:05]

In order to turn on the "motion detection mode," you need to long-press the on/off button for 3 seconds to power on the mini camera, which we already have on. The light should be blue. If we want to go into "motion detection mode," we got to press and hold the mode button for 3 seconds. It's starting to flash with a blue and red light, flashing three times indicating it has motion detection on. If it's recording, it's going to have no LED light lit during the recording. Whenever this camera detects motion, it will start filming automatically. It says that it will record up to a minimum sequence of 1 minute. If it still detects motion, it will continue recording until either the battery dies or until the SD card is full.

That's really cool. It looks like it can record up to five-minute-long sequences. That's really nice to see. If you want to stop the recording, you have to press the on/off button one time to stop the "motion detection mode." Now, the light is solid blue indicating that it's back into its original mode. There's an application you can install, which can be downloaded at nchsoftware.com. If you have that application, you can attach the provided cable to this, and then, you can install the drivers. With that, you can use this mini camera as a portable webcam. It's cool. That's basically it. There's also night vision with this camera, which we can quickly test out.

Infrared Mode

Play from here [8:58]

You turn on the mini camera, click on the power button, hold it down until the light is blue, and now you need to press and hold the on/off button for 2 seconds, and a red LED light will flash two times indicating that you're at "infrared mode." Now, it's on "infrared mode." If you press and hold the on/off button for another 2 seconds, that will turn off "infrared mode." We should be in infrared mode right now. Let me press the on/off button one time to start the recording.

The Test

Watch the demo from 9:42 to 10:10.

I'm currently in a very dark part of the house. I believe my infrared lights are on, and it's currently recording me. I can see those six infrared LED lights on this mini camera, and hopefully, you guys can see me. I'm hoping this footage is not too creepy, but this is the infrared night vision.

Photo Shooting Mode

Play from here [10:11]

There's one more thing about the mini camera that I wanted to show you guys before we end this video, and this is the "photo shooting mode." You can take a picture by clicking on the mode button. Let me take a picture of myself. This camera has a lot of features. You can take pictures with it. You can use motion detection. You can also use night vision, and you can use it as a webcam if you wanted to. I think that's going to conclude our testing of this mini spy camera. Let's move over to the final opinions and remarks to end this video.

Final Thoughts

Play from here [10:48]

Here are my final opinions and remarks about this mini camera. Well, I did not realize this, but the camera that we just reviewed does record audio. The audio was pretty good. I don't know how they were able to make a camera this small with all those features. I wouldn't say it's 1080p. It's more like 720p, but even that too, it's still pretty decent, and it also has great audio. This is essentially a spy camera. You can use this for spying purposes. I'm not saying any of you should, but technically, this camera is small enough to hide at any location where someone wouldn't be able to see it.
