Viltrox Weeylite RB9 Portable RGBCW LED Fill Light With App Control | Best RGB Video Light [Review]

In today's episode, we're viewing an RGB video light from the company Weeylite called the Weeylite RB9 RGBW Portable and Functional Full Color LED Light. It's just an RGB video light that has a lot of different features. It's like a traditional video light that people use when doing photography and taking pictures, but with this one, you have RGB. There are so many different effects and modes you can change it to. It's rechargeable. It can be used as a portable battery pack if you wanted to use it that way, and there's also an application that you can install and use with this LED lamp. There are just so many different things we can do with this RGB video light.

What we're going to do now is move over to the unboxing portion of this video.

The overall packaging of the Weeylite RB9 RGBW Portable and Functional Full Color LED Light is fairly simple. There are not a lot of details or specifications on it. The front of the box features the company's name and a picture of the product. This is the Model RB9, and it says RB9 RGB Light. That's basically it for the specifications and details on the box itself. Let's just get cracking with the unboxing. Opening the box, we're instantly greeted with the device, and it's surprising how small and compact it is. We have all the different LED lights embedded into the frame. There is a warranty card and a user manual. This user manual will give you guys all the different details and specifications on how to use this product.

The Weeylite RB9 RGBW Portable and Functional Full Color LED Light even comes with a nice little carrying bag. Also in the box, we have a kit of accessories such as a mini tripod, which you can use to attach the light onto. It can fully extend as well. It also comes with something that looks like a phone clip. You're supposed to attach it to the tripod. It also comes with a hot shoe base that you can attach your microphone to. You can also attach the LED light to it as well. It's really cool that they included that. Also in the packaging, we have a USB-C to USB-A cable. We also have an adaptor that we can attach to the LED light source to give it that hot shoe and cold shoe-based functionality. Let's take a look at the LED lamp.

I'm now looking at the backside where it says RB9 RGBW. It has all the different specifications and details on it if you want to take a look at that. There's also a digital screen at the back. We have an on and off button on the top right, and we have a bunch of different buttons on the side. They are buttons for changing the settings, and then we have plus and minus buttons. We also have our USB-C port for charging and a threaded base at the bottom. Now, I can use this on my DSLR camera, or if I have like a phone clip that has a hot shoe base. Now, I can easily slide it in. There are different LED lights embedded at the front. All that's left to do is to move over to the testing and demonstration portion where we test out this LED lamp. Let's get on and test out this LED light.

The Weeylite RB9 RGBW Portable and Functional Full Color LED Light is powered on now. It looks like I need to increase the brightness, so I'm going to increase it. It looks like my unit is almost completely out of charge, so let's hurry up and get this test done. I currently have it at 100% right now, and it's at 5700 Kelvin. Wow, this can definitely light up my whole face. If I wanted to use it for video work and stuff, it is ideal because it's doing a really good job. I can even change the color temperature. If I wanted to, I can increase the color temperature. Right now, I'm going into 8500 Kelvin right now, and it's a different type of light than what I had previously. It's doing a really good job, and I can take that light and go all the way down to 2500 Kelvin. That's very interesting. It gives off a warm/harsh kind of light. It's almost like the sunlight. It's really nice. If I click on the mode button on the side, we're going into the RGBs.

What I like about this light is there are a lot of different ways you can control the RGB feature. You can either use the 100% value or you can use the 360-degree value, and then there's also another mode where you can select with your RGB value. You can input the exact color you want, so if I increase it, the color will start changing. It's now going into the greens, blues, dark blue, violets, and then it will go back into the hot pinks, into the reds. I'll switch it to a different mode. This time it's the RGB mode, and I can customize all the different RGB values. We got RGBWY, so you can customize all of that. For instance, I can change the green to basic green. I can change the red to 50. You can make and customize your own color with this mode. It's self-explanatory, so you can go in and customize and pick the exact color you want if you know your RGBWY values to input into the Weeylite RB9 RGBW Portable and Functional Full Color LED Light.

I'm now on my phone, and I'm going to open up the Weeylite application, which you can install from Google Play or from the Apple App Store. Once loaded, you'll be brought to a menu. It looks like the Weeylite RB9 RGBW Portable and Functional Full Color LED Light is already connected to my application, so if I click on the power button, it turns back on. With the application, you can do all sorts of different things with the LED light. I can pick all the different colors I want. I can pick the exact color I want, and I don't have to use all those different media controls that I was messing with a lot earlier, which is really nice to see.

I can change how bright I want it, increase the brightness, saturation, increase it to 100. It's pretty accurate. It's fast at changing the color, too. It's really impressive. We have CCT mode, which I'm guessing is the color temperature. I can change the color temperature, seeing how it's completely warm and I can increase it to the coolest light, change the power, change the brightness. The Weeylite RB9 RGBW Portable and Functional Full Color LED Light looks really nice. All the different modes are on here, too. Yeah, it looks really fast. You can also do a custom color temperature, so if you have a custom one you want, you can do so.

There are also scene modes on the Weeylite RB9 RGBW Portable and Functional Full Color LED Light such as Flash, Firework, Burst, Blink, and Flame. The Flame scene simulates the light of a fireplace, so if I wanted to shoot a video to look like I'm beside a fireplace, I can use this scene to simulate that effect. That's really cool. We got Filming, which simulates a camera's flash. We got a TV scene, and this is going to simulate a TV's background noise. It looks really cool. It looks like I'm watching TV. We got a Welding scene, which looks like I was welding something. It's simulating that sort of. We got Curve One, Curve Two, Curve Three, Curve Four, CTC, and Alarm scene, which is like police lights. Wow, that is intense. It looks like I got pulled over. Think about it. If you had this in the back of your car, you can really try to simulate it as if you got pulled over. It really gives off a nice effect.

We got a Movie scene on the Weeylite RB9 RGBW Portable and Functional Full Color LED Light, so if I was in a movie theater right now, you know how some of the colors won't really pop off too much. That's what it's trying to simulate. That's very interesting. We got a Rainbow scene, and this is just going to simulate and change to all the different colors on the rainbow spectrum. Wow, the colors are really going off, and it looks really nice and presentable. We got a Bar scene, so it's going to simulate a bar scene. We have Birthday, Fairytale, Grassland, and Surf scenes. It's just going to be like the dark blues and light blues. It looks really nice. There's an Aurora scene that is going to simulate the Galaxy nighttime. The colors of the pinks, blues, and violets are deep. I really love this mode. We have all the different colors that we already took a look at, so I'm not going to really show off those again.

There are a bunch of different things you can do with the Weeylite RB9 RGBW Portable and Functional Full Color LED Light app, but you also have all those functionalities on the LED light itself. What we're going to do now is move over to the final opinions and remarks to conclude this video.

Here are my final opinions and remarks about this Weeylite RB9 RGBW Portable and Functional Full Color LED Light. Well, it did a fantastic job. There are just so many different effects and modes we can switch it to, and there's just so much you can do with this video light. The good thing about it is you can take it on the go. You can easily put this in your backpack or pocket and still be able to shoot videos and stuff. It did a fantastic job.
