Hello, everybody. I'm so excited. Today, I've just received this JBL Charge 5. I already had the Flip 5, and I am a big fan of it. It's has been my favorite speaker so far. I could not wait to buy this one and receive it. I got it out of the box, and my first impression was, wow, they're still doing a great job. I mean, every time, they come up with something great and better.
The first thing you see when you look at it is the big JBL logo, and the battery charge status just below it. On the sides, we have the same passive radiator. The buttons at the top are more or less the same, pairing button, volume down, volume up, and play/pause button. They added the power button now in the middle of the JBL Charge 5 together with the Bluetooth button, which on the Flip 5, you find them at the back. As you expect, you have a USB-C port and a charge-out port.
Before we switch the JBL Charge 5 on, let's just quickly have a look at the box. The Bluetooth is version 5.1, not the latest 5.2, but it's a step ahead of all the other Bluetooth speakers as of today. It has a 20-hour battery. On the side of the box, they just mention the JBL PartyBoost again for adding more speakers. To be honest, one speaker is great enough, but if you want to have a party, of course, you can add more.
The JBL Charge 5 comes with a very soft cloth, very posh. Usually, you get these when you buy expensive premium speakers. We also have a charging cable, which is, as you expect, great quality. There's a red inside of it to add to the JBL black and red theme. There's nothing else, but the manual in there.
Watch the pairing demo and the sound test from 2:24 to 3:12.
Okay, so to the fun part. Let's switch it on. I'm going to add the JBL Charge 5 to my MP3 player. I just want you to see the process, so you can see how fast it is to find it and connect to it. Here we go. I'm going to just press the button. Let's just pair it, done. Let's just go back and play some music.
The JBL Charge 5 is pumping bass. Oh, my God. The bass is so smooth, the highs are clear, and the mids are just perfect. I have no idea how they can manage to make such a beautiful sounding speaker. Honestly, I love JBL speakers. This video is not sponsored at all by JBL. They know nothing about me, so this is just pure love for what they do. I love Bluetooth speakers, and I get excited about them. I forgot to mention that it's got a nice base to it. It's rubbery, and it absorbs the vibrations. It's not showing on the Flip 5 speaker.
Listen to another test from 4:22 to 5:40.
I've got a high res microphone plugged into the phone, so we can capture good sound quality coming from the JBL Charge 5. Make sure you're using some decent quality headphones or speakers. The first song is going to be drum and bass. The volume is at about 70%.
Listen to another test from 5:54 to 7:05.
Let's get to the second song. We're going to go with Electrician by Jeremy Black. Here's the JBL Charge 5 again.
Listen to another test from 7:11 to 8:24.
One last song for the JBL Charge 5.
All right guys, so that was the quick review for the JBL Charge 5 speaker. I hope you enjoyed it. I'm going to make more videos, compare it to other great speakers, and I'm also going to do a teardown just to see what's inside, so please subscribe to see these videos, and I will see you soon. Bye.
