I have here the original Wonderboom, little tiny thing. It's quite small. It looks quite nice, actually. It's not so bad. It's no wonder why people liked it. There's only just a charging port here, micro USB. At the top, there's just the logo and microphone. I can click it. We also have the power button here and the volume up and down. Let's just switch it on. Nice, that was loud for its size. Okay, so that is the original Wonderboom.

Next, I've got a double pack here of the Wonderboom 2. Although, it says black on the box, it looks gray to me. Let me quickly check the color again. I'm checking the box. I can't find the information on the color. If I find out, I'll let you all know. It's supposed to be black, but it looks kind of gray. There's no way to find out which is which unless you know what it looks like or obviously from the Bluetooth because it will show you what it is.

Let's switch both the Wonderboom 1 and 2 on. I'm going to connect both of them to Bluetooth, and we're going to test the sound. Before that, let's just quickly see the size difference. The size is exactly the same. The back looks exactly the same. The top has the same buttons, power button and another button that looks like it could be a new button. It's got an LED, but you can actually press it and it clicks. The back is the same. Both of them just have the micro USB port.

Wow, that was impressive. Oh, dear. Wow. I mean, I tested a few speakers recently, in the dozen. The Wonderboom 2 is unique. This one is special. Wow. If you look at some of my other videos, I'm quite honest with speakers. If I don't like it, I'll just say it's rubbish. This one is good. The original Wonderboom is good, but then, when you play the Wonderboom 2, you kind of forget about the other one, totally. There's not much difference, but that little difference makes it stand out. To be honest, I don't know what it's like if I were to play these two Wonderboom 2s at the same time. That's just going to sound great. There's only one way to find out. What I'm going to do, I'm going to connect them both to each other. I'm going to play it. Unfortunately, you're not going to notice the difference. I don't think you would, but I will, so I'm just going to give it a go. I'll record it anyway just so you can see it.

Okay, so both of them are playing at the same time. I'm just going to separate them. You're not going to see them. Hopefully, you can hear them. I'm going to put the volume to the max.

A surprising discovery

What I found out was that you can connect them to each other by pressing the middle button, often the play button, together, and they just made like a happy tone to indicate that they're connected to each other. I also pressed the outdoor mode button. On the JBL, it boosts bass. I'm just going to find out what it does. I'm just going to play a song.

Spotting the difference

Listen to/watch the demo from 8:34 to 10:47.

I've got both of them connected through Bluetooth, to the same phone for music. I'm just going to be playing music to each one of them at the time. We'll see if we can notice the difference. Let's crank it up to full volume.

So what's the difference?

Play from here [10:45]

I just paused it for now. What we're going to do now is just change the song. What I quickly noticed while playing that song is that the Wonderboom 2 was more powerful, and it had slightly more bass than the Wonderboom 1. Both of them sounded great, to be honest, for the size. They had more of a surround kind of sound than they had more stereo, if you know what I mean. The speakers are not pointing at you. The speakers are like pointing to the side, so it's probably best for groups and small gatherings than for you listening to it on your desk, if you know what I mean. Let's just quickly find that other song.

The Verdict

Play from here [11:41]

Here's the final verdict. The Wonderboom 2 is much better than the first one although the first one is good as it is. The original one doesn't have the outdoor mode. The second one has got the outdoor mode. It boosts a bit of bass, but it wasn't much of a difference, to be honest. I could hear it, but it didn't boost the bass so much that you're going to notice it. The Wonderboom 2 was good, even much better with stereo mode, with another one. I would recommend the Wonderboom 2, I definitely would. That's it. Thank you for watching. I hope this helps you decide whether you want the first or the second, so catch you later. Bye. Thank you.
