If you're new here, hi, welcome. I'm Zuko. I make beauty and lifestyle kind of videos, and if you like this video after you're done watching, be sure to subscribe so you can be notified every single time I post.
For today's video, I'm going to be doing a review on a moisturizer that I recently tried, and that is the CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion. I also want to talk a little bit about the CeraVe PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion. I'm going to touch on both of these products in this video, but it's going to be centered around the Daily Moisturizing Lotion.
The CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion is for normal to dry skin. It moisturizes and helps restore the protective skin barrier, and it's made with three essential ceramides and hyaluronic acid.
This is a facial lotion, so it's going to be pretty lightweight. I've noticed that it's lightweight. I've used this product for about a week now. I'm going to tell you all about it, tell you what I thought.
Looking at the ingredients, there's a lot of great humectants and emollients in the ingredients list. On the packaging, it talks about ceramides, which of course are great for replenishing your skin and really helping to restore that skin barrier. Ceramides exist in our skin already, so having them in a moisturizer is definitely beneficial and just helps give your skin the moisture it needs.
This also has hyaluronic acid in it, which is great. Hyaluronic acid is a humectant that draws in the moisture from the surface levels of your skin to the deeper levels of your skin. That's a really beneficial product to having a moisturizer. I'm sure you've heard of hyaluronic acid. It's kind of been everywhere lately, and hyaluronic acid is great. I love that it's in this moisturizer. The ingredients overall look pretty good.
It's lightweight, oil-free, and it's also non-comedogenic. If you don't use oils in your skincare routine, this would be a good moisturizer to incorporate. It has MVE delivery technology for controlled release hydration all day long. I'm not sure what that technology is, but it's there. It's also fragrance-free to avoid irritation. I think that all CeraVe products are fragrance-free, so I really love that about this brand. I only discovered CeraVe about a year ago, but ever since, I can't stop buying their products over and over again.
The next moisturizer that I want to talk about is the CeraVe PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion. I've completely used this moisturizer, and I loved it. I loved it the entire time.
This is an ultra-lightweight formula. It's supposed to moisturize throughout the night and help restore the protective skin barrier. It has three essential ceramides, niacinamide, and hyaluronic acid. Both of these moisturizers have hyaluronic acid and the three essential ceramides.
However, this moisturizer also has niacinamide. For me, having niacinamide isn't really that much of a plus for this moisturizer just because I use niacinamide in a serum that is part of my routine. I'm getting niacinamide regardless. But, if you were to choose between the two, that's something to look at that's really a big difference because they have a lot of the same ingredients, but this PM Moisturizer has niacinamide in it.
Niacinamide is great if you have acne prone skin. It's also helpful in reducing your dark marks and fighting textures. Niacinamide is a great product to have especially in a PM Moisturizer, so that you can restore your skin overnight.
I think I'm going to do each of these moisturizers on each half of my face so that you guys can see the formulation, see how it goes on, and see the results.
Let's start with the Daily Moisturizing Lotion. First of all, if we're just talking about packaging, I like the Daily Moisturizing Lotion a lot better than the PM's packaging. There's a lot more in the container, so that's a plus.
I also love that it's a push top. You can easily close and lock it, so if it's turned a certain way, your moisturizer is locked, and you just turn it the other way and then it's open. I love that. I find the packaging really easy and simple.
The PM, on the other hand, also locks and opens when you turn it. I like that about the top, but the PM is just a smaller container, and it's a little more annoying to be pumping the little top over and over again whereas with the Daily Moisturizing Lotion, you only need one pump and you're good.
I'll try the CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion on one half of my face. When I first tried out the product, I expected it to be really oily because when you put it on your face, it feels thicker than it actually is.
It's definitely still lightweight and everything, but something about the formulation, when I first put it on, starts to build this film almost on your face, and I was really concerned about that film when I first applied this. When the moisturizer dries down a little bit and really sinks into your skin, it leaves you with the most lightweight, flawless feel, and that's what I really like about the moisturizer, just how lightweight and how great and amazing and moisturized your skin feels after it sets in.
One side of my skin now feels really good. I haven't noticed much of a difference in my skin as far as texture or things like that. The moisturizer I don't think has done anything to really change my skin at all, but you need a great moisturizer that's just going to maintain your skin's normal texture, and it is a really gentle, nice moisturizer that will maintain your skin barrier and your skin's moisture levels.
CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion is a lightweight, oil-free moisturizer that helps hydrate the skin and restore its natural barrier. Formulated with three essential ceramides and hyaluronic acid, it also features patented MVE Technology for long-lasting hydration and a lightweight, non-comedogenic formula that won’t clog pores.
Created with dermatologists, CeraVe PM Facial Moisturizer features three essential ceramides, hyaluronic acid and niacinamide in an oil-free, non-comedogenic formula that can hydrate and calm the skin while helping to restore the skin’s natural barrier.
One side is done. I'm going to apply the CeraVe PM Moisturizing Lotion to the other side. It is supposed to be an ultra-lightweight formula. It is a little bit thicker. It's not dripping down my hand like the other moisturizer was.
I find that the moisturizer has more of like a gel consistency. If you've tried a gel moisturizer or a moisturizer similar to that, it is more like that. It rubs in a lot nicer on the skin than the moisturizing lotion does, and it doesn't give you that white film that I was talking about with the other moisturizer.
If you are really into the way moisturizers go on to your skin, if you like to feel a luxurious gel like sensation, like a smooth type of thing when you're putting on your moisturizer, I think you would definitely prefer the PM over the Daily Moisturizing Lotion.
Now that it's done, I think my skin is a little bit more glowy on the PM side, which makes sense because it is a PM moisturizer, but my skin feels great. I have noticed that the Daily Moisturizing Lotion dries a little bit more matte than the PM does. If you have oily skin, I think the Daily Moisturizing Lotion would be a great moisturizer to use. On the package, it states that it's for normal to dry skin, but I think that you can use this if you had oily skin or a combination of both. I don't think it would irritate your skin at all.
When I had the PM Moisturizer, I would use it day and night any time. I really don't mind the shinier finish that the PM Moisturizer produces. I actually like it and didn't mind that at all. I think it can definitely be used any time of day, morning and night, as long as you don't mind being a little bit more glow.
I've used the Daily Moisturizing Lotion for a week now. I use it day and night, and I really love it. It gives me the perfect lightweight finish. The moisturizer leaves your skin feeling like skin such as that after you apply it, your skin just looks like skin. You're not oily. You're not dry. You're not anything. It just really re-balances your skin and restores it to its natural state, which is why I really like the Daily Moisturizing Lotion.
I love both of these moisturizers so much, and if I had more of these, I would probably use the Daily Moisturizing Lotion in the morning and the PM at night. But, both can be used anytime. Both really moisturize your skin and do the job.
If I had to choose one, because I know that's what you guys want to know, if I had to choose one, which moisturizer am I choosing?
The answer to that would be the CeraVe Facial Moisturizing PM Lotion simply because it goes on so smooth and so silky. I love the way that it goes on to your skin and it feels amazing. I don't mind having a glow look on my face, so this is my favorite. Out of the two, I do love the PM Moisturizer, and I'm going to be using it until it's all gone.
I'll put the prices right above these products, but I think that these are around the same price, and you're getting way more in the Daily Moisturizing Lotion bottle.
I would recommend both of these products. They're super gentle and super lightweight on your skin. It's all about preference, so if you prefer more of a skin-like finish, like you don't want your moisturizer to do much to your skin and you just want to be moisturized and to have your skin feel like there's nothing on it, the Daily Moisturizing Lotion would be the perfect product for you.
If you want a little bit more moisturization and if you care more about the consistency of your product i would recommend the PM. It's up to you. Both of these products do great under makeup. You can use them before you put your foundation on or whatever. They're not going to disrupt your makeup.
That wraps up today's video. I love both of the CeraVe moisturizers. I've completely used the PM and the Daily Moisturizing Lotion is up next.
